Power to Rise

Empowering adolescent girls and young women to overcome HIV, early pregnancy, and violence, and thrive

Adolescent girls and young women across many communities face a triple threat: HIV, unintended pregnancy, and gender-based violence. These challenges rob them of health, safety, and opportunity—and too often, the world looks away.

Power to Rise is our commitment to equipping adolescent girls and young women with the knowledge, tools, and support they need not just to survive, but to thrive and lead. We work with communities, families, and health systems to dismantle barriers, strengthen resilience, and unlock potential.

Because when girls rise, communities rise with them.

Our Approach

We take a holistic, youth-centred approach that places girls at the heart of their own empowerment. Our work includes:

Strengthening health-seeking behaviors through peer groups, life skills training, and access to youth-friendly services

Expanding access to sexual and reproductive health care, including HIV prevention, testing, and treatment

Addressing mental health and trauma, with a focus on girls affected by abuse, violence, or loss

Supporting adolescent parents with parenting education, health services, and psychosocial support

Engaging parents and caregivers to better understand and support adolescents through open dialogue and positive parenting

Working with communities and systems to reduce stigma, prevent violence, and ensure girls are safe, informed, and empowered

Expanding access to education, skills-building and income generation opportunities

Every service is designed to be survivor-centred, trauma-informed, girl-centred, and grounded in dignity and respect.

We work closely with ministries of health, social welfare and gender, community health networks, schools, faith leaders, and local youth-led organisations. Together, we’re building a safer, healthier, more equitable future for girls.
